About Me

I’ve been crafting stories for as long as I can remember, but in 2018 I decided to take the plunge and dedicate myself full-time to producing impactful stories affecting all people but mostly children, the elderly and persons living with disabilities in my community. Since then, I’ve been very fortunate to have had my work featured in a variety of publications including TRT World, BBC and KTN News.

I'm a three-time award winning journalist; and I have been nominated more than 7 times for various awards and recognition. I achieved the distinction of becoming the 'Journalist of the Year' in Kenya, an award I received on 5th May, 2021 during the global commemoration of the International Press Freedom Day. I've also won the 'Good Governance Reporting Award' in 2021 by the Media Council of Kenya and the 'Impact Award' by the United Nations for reporting on Goal 10 of the SDG on Reducing Inequalities Among Communities.

In 2020, I was a nominee for the prestigious Thompson Reuters 'Young Journalist of the Year' Award. That same year, I was also nominated for the 'Africa Youth Awards' under the media category. I've also previously been nominated for: Kenyans on Twitter Award for Journalist of the Year 2018, The Michael Elliott Award for Excellence in African Storytelling 2019, Avance Media Awards for Journalist of the Year 2018 among many more.

I look at the world through a journalist’s lens. I see stories in everyday life just waiting to be told and do my best to be the medium through which they reach the people.
